Before the first 100 days of his second term, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that his administration will commission several key projects.
Speaking after inspecting the ongoing projects on Saturday, Wike said the time for the policy is over and that this is the time to fulfill the campaign promises for the good people of Rivers State.
He said: “There are so many projects that are ready to be commissioned during our first 100 days during this second period: Mile One Market, Fruit Garden Market, Judges Quarters, Elelenwo-Akpajo Road, Government Secondary School, Ogu , the Government Secondary School, Abua and the West Ahoada County High School “.
Wike noted that extensive work is being done at the Maternal and Child Hospital, Sakpenwa-Bori Road, Rivers State University Hospital, Second Phase of the Isiokpo Interstate Highways, Sime-Eteo Road, Eleme-Afam Road, among other key projects.
He attributed his success in delivering projects despite the dwindling economy to prudent management of scarce resources, and said the government has reduced its recurring expenses to achieve the desired objectives.
“We must make sure we satisfy our people. We give them what they want. They deserve the best. ”
Wike noted that with politics, he confronts the government to satisfy people by providing them with basic infrastructure. He expressed his satisfaction with the level of work done on the project sites.
In an interview, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa, who accompanied the governor in the project’s inspection, said the state governor’s projects are people-oriented.
He pointed out that the unsolicited sample of love from the town by the governor is a demonstration that they are happy with their performance.
“This shows that people are happy that the Governor of Rivers State is touching lives. For me, democracy is nothing more than the opportunity to touch lives.
These are projects oriented to people. This is democracy in action, “said Senator Ohuabunwa. He described praised the governor of Rivers State for providing basic infrastructure for the people.
Also speaking, the president of the Edo Popular Democratic Party, Dan Orbih, described Governor Wike as an exceptional politician with a clear mission to develop the state of Rivers.
“With the number of projects and the quality of the work, he will know that he is a man with a clear mission to work for the good people of Rivers State,” he said.
