The former immediat” representative of the Southeast Rivers Senate District in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, has given reasons why he went to court against some people who wrote defamatory stories against him in the media.
Abe, in a statement entitled “APC Crisis in Rivers: Nobody Can Rewrite History,” personally signed and made available to the Latest Nigeria newspaper on Wednesday, said Nigerians are aware that the APC crisis in Rivers State originated in the unconstitutional decision of the leader of the party in the State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to summarily expel him, and other party leaders in the state who sympathized with his ambition as governor for no discernible reason.
The senator further stated that the Minister’s directive to unilaterally exclude party members from all party activities without due process is also the origin and root of the Crisis in the party.
He said: “In fact, before the problematic congresses, the then state party president, Chief Ibiamo Ikanya, convened a stakeholder meeting / state meeting of the Rivers APC SEC where all problems were resolved amicably, including the distribution of forms to all applicants party members
“An all-inclusive committee was established to implement the resolutions of that meeting, as soon as the Minister was informed of this measure, he not only dissolved the Committee but also annulled the efforts and consensus decisions reached by the entire leadership.
“The Minister ordered that, in accordance with his previous directives in the Dome, the members of the party who sympathized with Senator Abe be excluded from Congresses and deny the forms they paid.”
The former president of the Senate Committee on FERMA at the 8th National Assembly said that those members, Ibrahim Umar and 22 others who went to court, legitimately secured a court order on the facts, but again the Minister ordered the party to disobey. The rest, as they say, is history.
Abe said he approached the courts because, in an unprecedented sponsored media campaign, the events were buried and recaptured by one Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a publicist hired to the minister who became the face of the attempt to rewrite history .
He said: “Those who went to court were accused of working for Governor Wike and the PDP, the courts were promoted as Wike supermarkets, some of Amaechi’s publicists such as Oby Ndukwe and Lucky Worlu came to accuse me of conspiring with the Vice President will assassinate President Buhari and collect billions of Naira from Governor Wike and the PDP to destabilize the APC in the state of Rivers.
“I was introduced to the Nigerian public as a desperate politician who destroyed his party due to his personal ambition.
“These false and unfounded accusations went beyond social networks and were accepted as true to the point where credible media [houses] had enough confidence to carry this defamation campaign on their pages and give it legitimacy and credibility.
“It is for this reason that I have instituted Suit No. PHC / 3314/2019 – SENATOR MAGNUS ABE VS. 1. HEAD EZE CHUKWUEMEKA EZE 2. VINTAGE PRESS LIMITED (Editor of the Nation newspaper) 3. DELE ADEOLUWA 4. BISI OLANIYI.
“Also Suit No. PHC / 3663/2019 – Senator Magnus Ngei Abe vs. 1. Mr. (Hon.) Lucky Worluh. 2. Vanguard Media Limited (Editor, Sunday Vanguard). 3. Davies Iheamnachor (Reporter, Sunday Vanguard). 4. Wale Akinola (Editor, Sunday Vanguard), to give an opportunity to those who have made these accusations in an effort to rewrite the history of the Rivers APC Crisis to appear before the courts, and to the public and present the facts about the which ones to be
“My integrity and reputation remain my most valuable assets, if I lose that because of hate and deception policies, I would have lost everything.
“My claim, therefore, is not intended to be a war against any media, it is rather an open challenge for those who have sold the falsehood when they know the truth and now present the facts behind their falsehood or be ashamed forever. for the silence. ”
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that The senator appealed to all men of good will to remember that all the gold on earth is worth nothing, “if we lose our name” and advocated the cooperation and understanding of all in view of the matter.
