Continuing his review of the system left behind by the immediate past governor of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, approved the immediate dismissal of Umar Gokaru as Chief of Civil Service and appointed Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa as The new head of civil service.
In a statement signed by the Governor’s spokesperson, Dr. Ladan Salihu indicated that before his appointment, the new Chief of Service was the Special Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Governor.
The statement further explained that Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa replaced the outgoing Head of Service, Alhaji Adamu Umar Gokaru, whom the Governor ordered him to proceed to mandatory retirement in the public interest.
According to the statement, the Governor thanked the former Head of Service for his invaluable contribution to the state public administration.
Adamu Umaru Gokaru was appointed Head of the State Civil Service by former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar towards the end of the administration in 2018. He had served as State General Accountant during the administration of the former Governor, Isa Yuguda.
