The indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, have reacted to the death of their leader’s mother, Nnamdi Kanu, Lolo Sally Ugoeze.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Kanu, who announced this on Sunday morning, said his mother died on August 30 in Germany after fighting a long undisclosed illness.
The IPOB leader accused the federal government of contributing to the death of his mother, with the incident of September 2017, where soldiers allegedly invaded his home in Umuahia, Abia state.

In reaction to the incident, IPOB condoles with the Kanu family for the development.
A statement signed by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, says: “We, the global family of the indigenous peoples of Biafra (IPOB), feel pain and grief at the announcement of the sudden death of our mother, Mrs. And Lolo Ugoeze Sally Nmeme Kanu, who died on August 30, 2019 in a German hospital after a brief illness due to numerous attacks by the Nigerian government and security forces against his Afaraukwu family and the people of Biafra since 2015.
“Our deepest condolences to the entire IPOB family worldwide, but more specifically to our indomitable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his whole family of His Royal Majesty Sir Eze I.
