Armed men kidnap blogger in Imo Ifeanyi Onyenankeya, a famous blogger in the state of Imo, has been abducted by unknown gunmen suspected of being kidnappers.
Onyenankeya was reportedly kidnapped Monday night at his father’s compound located at number 3, Duru Close, Ekeagbara, Okigwe, said a family source.
The kidnapped blogger is the owner of two popular news blogs, Okigwe Arena and Imo Arena.
The source revealed that the armed men, three in number, broke into the residence in a Sienna SUV and beat him when he tried to resist before finally taking him in his car.
“This young man in the picture is called Ifeanyi Onyenankeya of Arondizuogu in the Local Government of Okigwe, a member of the National Examination Council.
“He is 6.2 feet tall, dark complexion, thin and Christian. He is the administrator of Okigwe Arena / Imo Arena on Facebook.
“He was kidnapped at his father’s compound (3, Duru Close, Ekeagbara Okigwe) yesterday, August 12, 2019, between 7 and 8 pm by three men wearing masks after being brutally beaten in an attempt to resist kidnapping. He said that these men had come in a Sienna car.

The incident has been confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the police in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, but explained that it had not yet been established if it was a kidnapping since the investigations were still ongoing.
Ikeokwu said: “Yes, the news is confirmed, but we cannot say categorically that it is a case of kidnapping or not. “As we speak, they have not asked for any ransom. “We heard that armed men arrived at the house of the victim’s father in Okigwe and kidnapped him.
“This happened on Monday night, and we heard that they (armed men) arrived in a vehicle from Siena. “But the investigation has begun. We are aware of the situation. “
