The Presidential Election Petition Court, in its ruling on Wednesday, stated that there is no evidence to prove that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, electronically transmitted the results of the last presidential election to any server.
The court held that the petitioners, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Popular Democratic Party, PDP, could not prove the existence of any INEC server.
The trial that is still read about Atiku’s request and the PDP that challenges the victory of President Buhari and the APC, said the petitioners did not prove that INEC also transmitted the results electronically.
The court held that there is no law in Nigeria that allows for the electronic transmission of results or the transmission of results using a card reader.
Judge Mohammed Garba, president of the Court, said: “I have carefully examined and examined Annex 28 (INEC Election Manual) submitted by the petitioners, I did not see where there is a provision for the electronic transmission of the election result.”
