Buhari Ask Reps approval to appoint Special Advisers

President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the approval of the House of Representatives for the appointment of 15 Special Advisers.

In the letter read by the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday, the President said that the appointment is in line with Section 151 of the Constitution.

The letter reads: “following the provisions of Section 151 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), which gives the president powers to appoint special advisers to assist him in the performance of his duties.

“I hope that this request will receive the expeditious consideration of the distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

President Buhari also sent a similar letter to the Senate. However, the approval is different from the confirmation letter; the message is to inform the House.
