Buhari demonstrated hatred for education by reducing budgetary allocation – ASUU



The Union of Academic Personnel Universities (ASUU) said on Sunday that President Muhammadu Buhari demonstrated his hatred for the education sector by continually reducing the budget allocation for the industry.

Latest Nigeria newspaper report that  The union said that reducing the budget allocation has made it impossible for the country’s universities to recruit more staff even though many die as a result of overwork.

The President of the chapter of the ASUU University of Ibadan, Professor Deji Omole, made these statements while speaking with journalists in Ibadan, the capital of the state of Oyo.

Omole described the statement credited to the President citing education as a way to end poverty as a political statement.

According to him, Nigerians do not need the President to tell them what dangerous countries have shown as a way to overcome poverty.

Omole said that beyond making such a statement, President Buhari and his team through their educational policies have shown hatred for financing and offering qualitative education to Nigerians.

Omole, who expressed pessimism about the ability of the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu to transform education, stated that Adamu was no different from his employer.

He further stated that Adamu made several political statements in his first in which he never acted.
