An agent of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 presidential election, Yahaya Shiko, said on Thursday that the results of the election in the Kaduna state were manipulated to favor President Muhammadu Buhari, who waved the flag of the Congress of All the Progressives, APC.

Shiko, who served as a colleague for the PDP in the local government of Kaduna South in Kaduna state, told the Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal that the results were reported in his presence.

He also informed the court that the election in his area was affected by the excessive voting and the allocation of figures to the parties.

Under interrogation of Charles Edosomwan, attorney for the All Progressive Congress (APC), he said: “My statement was based on the reports I received from the voting unit agents and what I saw on the results sheets that were sent to the local government snack center.

“There were cases of over-voting, and assigning figures. These were the ones that were taken to the Local Government snack center. In my presence, the results were cured. ”

In response to a question from the lawyer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Yunus Usman, Shiko said that “the figures were wrongly credited to APC.”

“At the snack center, I filed complaints when the results were announced and I protested by refusing to attach my signature to the results sheets,” he said.
