The Minister of State for the Development of Mines and Steel, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, reacted to the Presidential Election Petition Court that reaffirmed the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last Nigeria presidential poll of 2019.
Naija News today report that the court led by Judge Mohammed Garba dismissed the Atiku and PDP petition in its entirety.
The court ruled that Buhari was duly elected as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the presidential elections held on February 23, 2019.
The court ruled that the electronic transfer of results, which was the crux of the opposition’s request, did not take place at any level.
But, in reacting in a press release personally signed by him and issued to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Advertising, Imo Great Jonathan, on Thursday morning, the Minister congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in court of request for presidential elections.
The minister, who was a candidate for the APC government in the last general elections of 2019 in the state of Abia, described the victory of the party (APC) as an affirmation of the people’s preference for President Buhari as its president.
The statement says: “I join all the men and women of goodwill in the world to congratulate them on their resounding victory in the recently concluded Presidential Election Tribunal that met at the Court of Appeals. At the beginning of March this year, an overwhelming majority of Nigerian voters registered through the polls eloquently expressed their preference for you as their president beyond each competitor and suitor to that seat.
“Today, that eloquent preference has not only been accentuated by the united voice of the honorable Members in the Court, but also by the joy in the hearts and minds of all the most demanding Nigerians who have welcomed that verdict with joy throughout our nation.
“In the name of my humble self, my family and the entire APC family in the state of Abia, for whom you have always been a symbol of hope and progress, I congratulate you on another total victory.”
