Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann admitted that he had found it “difficult” to establish a relationship with Lionel Messi, as the couple rarely speaks.
It has been a hot topic of debate since Griezmann left Atlético de Madrid to join Barça in the summer and it seems that the couple has some distance between them.
Speaking before the Champions League game against Inter Milan, Griezmann said: “He is not someone who talks a lot, and neither do I. It is difficult.”
“I already gave him some mate (tea), and we are going in the right direction.
“But he has been injured a lot, so it is difficult to make this connection, to improve it. We are two good guys, good people, and I’m here to help anyone on the team. ”
Griezmann has scored three goals in his first eight games for the LaLiga champions, after his move of £ 107 million.
Messi has a very close relationship with Luis Suarez and reports in Spain suggest that the Argentine wanted a meeting with Neymar, rather than the arrival of Griezmann.
