Court sentences three robbers to 21 years imprisonment

A Supreme Court of Abeokuta on Friday sentenced three men to 21 years in prison each for robbing a Segun Olawale of his motorcycle, telephone and money.

The convicts (Yusuf Moshood, Kamilu Moruf and Kamilu Onifade, whose homes were not provided) were found guilty on two charges of conspiracy and theft.

Judge Abiodun Akinyemi maintained that the court was convinced, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the defendants committed the crimes. He said that the evidence provided by the prosecution was sustainable.

The prosecutor, Mr. Kunle Sodeinde, said during the court trial that the trio committed the crimes on June 2, in the Akomoje area in Abeokuta.

According to Sodeinde, Moshood and Moruf boarded the Olawale motorcycle from Saje and asked him to take them to Akomoje.

“On the way, they chose the third accused, Onifade; When they arrived at their destination, they refused to pay their fees. “Suddenly, they took the author’s motorcycle and threatened to kill him if he did not cooperate with them.

“The plaintiff was robbed of his motorcycle, telephone and N10,000. “Unfortunately, the next day, on June 3, the author met with the second defendant, Moruf, which led to the arrest of the three,” he said. YAYA
