There was a slight drama on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, when the senator dismissed on behalf of the Kogi West Senate District, Dino Melaye, was denied access to the Commission’s facilities.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Melaye, in the company of some journalists, was denied entry to the commission facilities. It is alleged that the senator had come to INEC to submit more petitions.
It was said that a camera belonging to one of the journalists was seized, but was later released when Melaye intervened.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Melaye, who is the candidate of the Popular Democratic Party, PDP, a candidate in the elections for senatorial re-election of Kogi West, had stormed last week at INEC headquarters where she had presented 21 documentary and video evidence.
