Edo elections: Igbinedion, Momoh, Idiaka, others lose in court

The Court of Appeals has dismissed the appeals filed by Omosede Igbinedion of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP contesting the decision of the state court of the electoral petition, which confirmed the victory of Denis Idahosa of the All Progressives Congress , APC.

On Friday, the Court also dismissed the request of Abubakar Momoh of the PDP, who sought that the Court revoke the ruling of the Court, which rejected his petition for lack of merit and confirmed the election of Senator Francis Alimikhena of the APC, representing Senatorial District Edo North.

The request of Deacon Idiake Patrick of the APC, which questioned the decision of the Court that confirmed the election of Joe Edionwele of the PDP for the federal constituency of Esan West / Esan Central / Igueben, was also rejected.

Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Judge Aseimo Moore Ademein, who read the sentences, said that all appeals lacked merit and, therefore, dismissed them.
