A family of seven, including husband and wife, were found dead in Elele Town, a local government area of Ikwerre in Rivers State.
GISTOK gathered that the tragic incident occurred in his apartment inside an estate known as, Too much money, in Elele Town.
One of the victims ‘neighbors, who confirmed the incident to the journalists, said they woke up in the early hours of today and discovered that the neighbors’ house was still closed.
The source, who does not want his name mentioned, said: “We decided to force the main door to open it after we observed that his father’s car, a popular commercial driver, was not yet out of his usual business.”
When contacted, the spokesman for the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident. Omoni said the preliminary investigation showed that the family died of the flames of a generator set.
He insisted that the investigation was still to be deciphered if it was a sabotage, adding that the corpse of all the deceased had been deposited in the morgue.
