Abia: Gov. Ikpeazu dissolves 32 boards of parastatals

The governor of the state of Abia, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, approved the extension of the hours of operation of the operators of tricycles, popularly known as Keke, at 9 pm every day in Aba and Umuahia.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Press Officer, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka and remitted to GISTOK on Monday, stating that the extension goes into effect immediately.

According to the statement, “The operators of tricycles under the aegis of the Association of operators of amalgamated bicycles of the state of Abia must correspond to the generosity of the governor, be of ethical behavior and control the use of their bicycles for criminal activities.

“The Governor orders the Commissioner of Police, the State of Abia and the Chiefs of other Security Agencies in the State to remain vigilant and intensify their patrols to reduce at the root, any criminal activity that may arise from this extension.”
