Benue state governor Samuel Ortom sympathized with the families of those who died in an accident near Unguwan Ciyawa in the Eggon local government area of Nasarawa state on his way to Makurdi yesterday.
In a statement signed by his Chief of the Press Secretariat, Terver Akase, the Governor described the incident as painful and said the tragedy was a sad moment for the entire state.
He directed the State Ministry of Works and Transportation to link with the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Administration of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, whose bus was involved in the unfortunate accident to ensure that survivors receive urgent care while the bodies of the deceased are duly deposited in the morgue.
Governor Ortom also said the state government would support the treatment of survivors and help the bereaved families to bury their loved ones. He prayed to God to give the victims eternal rest.
