Gov Sanwo-Olu reacts to Lagos Oba, Oniru’s death

The state governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reacted to the death of the first-class monarch of the state of Lagos, Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru.

Latest Nigeria newspaper report that His Royal Majesty, Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru, died Monday. Oniru died in Lagos after a brief illness. He was 82 years old.

Under his reign, the land of Iru, the host of the island of Oniru and Victoria, became a mega location with investments and buildings worth hundreds of billions. In reaction to his death, the governor took pity on Oba’s family.

He wrote on Twitter: “On behalf of the government and the people of Lagos, I pity the Royal Family of Oniru on the transition of His Royal Highness Oba Idowu Oniru, who joined his ancestors. His service to the state and the country, in general, will remain his enduring legacy. Goodbye.”
