Imo: Gov. Ihedioha told to prosecute, jail Senator Okorocha

The elders of the Senatorial zone of Orlu of the state of Imo, under the auspices of the Council of Elders of Orlu, have asked Governor Emeka Ihedioha to investigate, prosecute and imprison the former state governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, if found guilty of corruption.

The Nigeria newspaper report that In a 3-page speech read by the President of the Council, Professor Francis Dike SAN, during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of the State of Imo, Engr. Gerald Irona, on Thursday, the group accused the former governor of leaving a legacy of Garnishee orders and indescribable looting of the state treasury.

The group commended the Chamber of the Imo State Assembly and the State Attorney General for taking measures to adopt the Criminal Justice Administration Act in the state, describing it as capable of improving the course of criminal justice in the state of Imo.

They took the opportunity to urge the candidate to govern the Congress of All Progressive-APC in the 2019 elections, Senator Hope Uzodimma to end his litigation against Governor Emeka Ihedioha, in the interest of the state.

The elders also used the forum to ask the state governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, to reinstate his royal majesty, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, as President of the State Council of Traditional Governors of Imo, in obedience to judicial pronouncements.
