The Chamber of the Kaduna State Assembly on Thursday rejected the candidate for Commissioner of Agriculture, Aliyu Jaafaru, who sent them for confirmation by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the candidate, who appeared before the assembly to be examined, was rejected by lawmakers because of his alleged criticism of the El-Rufai administration.
The spokesman, Alhaji Aminu Shagali, who chaired the plenary session, said the rejection was due to his criticism of the government of El-Rufai for its management on social networks since 2017.
Chagall said that Jafaaru had been criticizing one of the current education administration’s best policies since 2017, which is the issue of the disconnection of unqualified teachers in the state.
While quoting some of his publications, the speaker said: “On your Facebook account, you said there was nothing like making Kaduna State big again.”
“It’s a deceptive closure used by politicians to deceive the masses; We will make Kaduna great at the appropriate time. “It is a responsibility for those who are truly sincere, not for those who are intrinsically sarcastic.
“He also said that El-Rufai must learn to deal with problems with a human face, he also said that he is an advocate of the change that goes to the root cause, not just the symptoms.
“You also said in the same post, stop comparing me with El-Rufai, who thinks he’s smarter than intelligence itself.
“However, you said that you were a humble human being who believes that all that shine is not gold. Therefore, there is nothing authoritarian in insisting on the truth and never telling the truth.
“I detest the lack of sincerity since there are better ways to solve problems genuinely.” Reporting to journalists shortly after the plenary session, the chairman of the Assembly of
the Media and Public Affairs Committee, Alhaji Tanimu Musa, said that the rejection of the candidate for governor was due to his criticism of the El-Rufai government.
He said: “The evil that men live even after them, Jaafaru has been a critic of this administration in social networks.
“He has been criticizing the government, so why do you want to work with the government that you have been criticizing?”
Other selected candidates are Mr. Thomas Gyang, Planning and Budget Commissioner, Alhaji Hassan Mahmud, Commissioner in the Governor’s Office for Disturbances, Damage, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, and Alhaji Atiku Musa as Auditor General.
The House of Representatives urged the auditor to ensure that the audited account of each local government in the state was up to date.
Meanwhile, the speaker also announced that the Lieutenant Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Balarabe, would act as interim health commissioner pending when the substantive commissioner was appointed.
