The deputy governor of the State of Kogi, Elder Simon Achuba, has alerted the alleged mobilization of gunmen by his boss, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to attack him, and has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the police inspector general, Mohammed Adamu his rescue
The deputy governor shouted about the ugly development at a press conference held at his residence in Lokoja, the state capital on Thursday.
Achuba told reporters that the information at his disposal revealed that Governor Yahaya Bello has mobilized gunmen to attack him for his persistent anger at him.
According to Achuba, “Bello should be held responsible if something happens to my life. I call on President Buhari and the police inspector general to send his reflector to the State of Kogi as a result of the alleged activities of gunmen of Governor Bello in the State. ”
He also emphasized that “You cannot be a governor of the people and a murderer of people as Bello is exhibiting.”
Given the claim of the government of the State of Kogi that all his rights have been paid to date, Achuba discredited the claim describing it as a false and threatened legal action to ensure that his two years of unpaid wages and subsidies were resolved without further delay .
As vice governor, I have staff whose salaries depend on my office, including mine and other assignments, and I am impressed to run the office since 2017.
“The governor refused to pay. The question of wages is critical and it’s not about me, since workers deserve their salaries, “said Achuba
“My monthly salary, for example, as vice governor is N385,000. How can I run my office with this type of payment without impressing in the last two years? “, I ask.
The vice governor warned his boss to always see himself as a servant of his people and not as a teacher for being a humanitarian in all his actions and inactions in the administration of the State.
He explained that his continuous break with his boss has nothing to do with any action on his part, as alleged, but for his disenchantment in the bad governance of the State by Bello, which has inflicted endless incalculable difficulties to the people of the State.
Meanwhile, the daily effort of GISTOK to speak with the Director General of Media and Advertising to the Governor of the State of Kogi, Kingsley Fanwo was abortive at the time of submitting this report, since their phones were turned off and the message sent was not answered.
