The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, warned Wednesday, the governor of the state of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, and the All Progressives Congress , APC, about the attack with firearms in his primary election of governor in Lokoja, the state capital.

Latest Nigeria newspaper report that the invasion of shooters in the place of the primary elections of the PDP, Governor Bello had ordered the security agents to get to the root of the matter.

However, the PDP claimed that Bello and APC’s decision to resort to “violence and bloodshed” cannot save the failed governor and his party during the next governor elections in the state.

In a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, the opposition party insisted that “the people of
The state of Kogi is firm in the irreversible resolution of using all available means in a democracy to confront and defeat the evil plots of APC before the November governor elections. ”

The statement says: “It is clear to all that Governor Yahaya Bello has become chaotic in the face of his rejection by the people, as well as the growing popularity of the PDP in the state of Kogi, and has now resorted to violence in A desperate attempt failed to prevent our party from presenting a candidate for the elections.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the PDP had a peaceful, decent, clean, bright, credible, and transparent process in the conduct of our primary. The accredited delegates voted, and the voting was concluded in a very orderly manner before the vicious attack of the gunmen, who shouted the pro-Bello mantra and were accompanied by familiar APC faces.

“The PDP only feels sorry for Yahaya Bello and the APC because our processes are still intact and nothing can influence our resolution, as well as the strong will of the people of the state of Kogi to expel them from office in November.

“This is truer as the attack has further united our aspiring governor, critical stakeholders, leaders and members and supporters across the state for a common front against Yahaya Bello and the APC.

“Nothing can detract from this since the attack has united and further strengthened the people of the state of Kogi so that it lags behind our party in the decisive struggle and the noble goal of liberating their country from violent and repressive forces.

“Our message to Yahaya Bello and APC is that their days in office are already counted and that they cannot stay one day beyond the stipulated date of delivery.

“By resorting to violence and forced occupation, the APC and the rejected governor should have known that the people of the state of Kogi never in history, bowed in subjugation before anyone regardless of force or intimidation.

“That spirit of resistance to oppression and force has been activated, and we warn APC to stay away from the anger of the people, who have decided to regain their status by voting in the PDP, on November 16.”
