Man bags 2-year imprisonment for kidnapping 2-year-old baby in Lagos

A court of magistrates in Ejigbo sentenced an Emmanuel Ikrangubek to two years in prison for forced labor for kidnapping a two-year-old boy, Yusuf Badru, at his parents’ residence at 141 LASU Cheri Road, Igando, Lagos.

The prosecutor, ASP Kenneth Asibor, said the baby was playing in the complex on Friday, August 2, 2019, at approximately 2: 0 o’clock, while the suspect entered and charged the baby, thinking that no one saw him.

“Unfortunately for him, the older brother of the baby who was also playing inside the facility noticed it and alerted the security guard who was in the bathroom.”

“The two challenged the alleged kidnapper, took the child away, and arrested him. “He was then handed over to the police who, after the investigation, accused him in court.”

Meanwhile, having agreed to be guilty of a single charge, Ikrangubek was sentenced Thursday to 24 months in prison with forced labor by the presiding magistrate, Mr. Teslim Shomade.
