A court in the upper area in Mpape, Abuja, ordered Monday that a 28-year-old man identified as Abubakar Umar be sent to a correctional facility for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old boy.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that The presiding judge, Hassan Muhammad, gave the order after Umar pleaded guilty to two charges of unnatural crime.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Muhammad postponed the case until October 28. Prosecutor’s attorney Stanley Nwaforaku had told the court that the defendant committed the crime on September 28.
Nwaforaku said the defendant intentionally attracted a seven-year-old boy to the bush and contaminated him. The prosecutor said the crime violated the provisions of articles 272 and 284 of the Criminal Code.
