Nigerians have reprimanded Judge Mohammed Garba for his final judgment, as head of the Presidential Election Petition Court in the 2019 presidential elections.

Naija News previously reported that the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPT) on Wednesday rejected the request of the Popular Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

In sentencing, Judge Mohammed Garba, who led a panel of five-man judges, said: “This petition is accordingly, and is hereby dismissed in its entirety.

“In the final result, and I have come to the conclusion that it is inevitable and unavoidable, that the petitioners have not proven any of the reasons for the petition in paragraph 15 of the petition.

“This petition is consequently and hereby dismissed in its entirety.”

Naija News recalls that PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition party, rejected the court’s verdict and asked its lawyers to file an appeal with the supreme court.

Apparently disgusted with the sentence, the Nigerians went to the microblogging site, Twitter, to rebuke the judge of the court.
