Not everybody can be Commissioner – Ogun APC Spokesman reacts as members lobby Abiodun

While members of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) in the State of Ogun strive to make the list of Commissioners of Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Secretary of Publicity of the party’s caretakers committee in the state, Tunde Oladunjoye, has asked to remain calm, saying: “not everyone will become commissioners”.

Daily Post reports that Governor Abiodun last week said he would publish his list of commissioners before Christmas.

Our correspondent deduced that the statement has caused “last minute trouble”, since the party members make an intense lobby to be in Abiodun’s cabinet.

Nigeria news  Recall that the APC loyalists who worked for Abiodun during the elections were not happy with their decision to include members of other political parties in their government, since they perceived that it would mean giving what belongs to them. strangers.

It should be remembered that Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had taken his supporters to the APC.

A former state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has also left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC. Our correspondent reliably deduced that those who look at various positions in the Abiodun government already feel threatened, with the caliber of people joining the APC in Ogun.

But Oladunjoye, in an exclusive interview with Naija news on Monday, said that even if Governor Abiodun appointed all of his commissioners from a local government, he would not have been able to appoint all APC members in that local government in his cabinet.

“If no one from other parties had joined APC after the elections, if the commission space were shared only with APC members, even in a local government, would it be round? It will not go around. It is natural for people to lobby in politics.

“Politics implies lobbying and response. I am very sure that those who join will also realize that the governor is accommodating everyone because of our promise of an all-inclusive government that was made during the campaign and we also have to be aware of the fact that there is a need for someone He made political promises to meet his expectations.

I think so far, the governor has done that. He has created the transition working group, with Tunde Lemo as president; Gboyega Isiaka was there, Rotimi Paseda was there, Reuben Abati was there and other people who disputed the governor’s position with him. Tunde Lemo is not even a politician, ”said Ogun APC spokesman.

Oladunjoye said it is normal for people to indicate interest in occupying offices, adding that the party can only preach peace.

“It is natural for people to fight for positions, but we can only preach peace. It’s not a big deal, it’s natural. ”

When asked if the party is working to ensure that those who worked for the party really benefit from the Abiodun government as promised during their election campaign, Oladunjoye replied: “If the governor said so, he has it as an obligation to people and it is not all who will become commissioners; some possible members of board of directors; some could be chairmen of boards; some could be advisors; some would be consultants, contractors, etc. It will be in varying degrees; because even our contributions to party, to the rise of the governor, did not go to the same scale “.
