Oby Ezekwesili, former presidential candidate of the Party of the Allied Congress of Nigeria, ACPN, has reacted to the arrest of the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, by men from the Department of State Services, DSS.
Gistok had reported that Sowore, the #RevolutionNow Protests convener, had been arrested in his apartment in the early hours of Saturday.
The politician posted a distress tweet at precisely 1:25 in the morning that says: “DSS invades Sowore.” Later, he added another tweet that could be a confirmation that his phone must have been seized while trying to give the alarm about his arrest.
Reacting, Oby in a tweet asked for Sowore’s release.
According to her, “@AsoRock should know that they cannot maintain this unconstitutional habit of repression against #CitizensRights.”
“All these persistent acts of @NGRPresident to reduce public space with a rabid level of intolerance to dissent will surely fail.”
