Ogun: Abiodun probes Amosun’s appointments, promotions



The Ogun state government said Wednesday it was working to reposition civil and public service for the efficient provision of services for people.

The Nigeria newspaper report that The Ogun state government Dapo Abiodun stated this by opening the Appointments and Promotions Review Committee in the Civil Service and State Companies between February 1 and May 29, 2019, at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

“The state public service of Ogun is recognized for its professionalism, commitment, and dedication, and occupies an environment that positions it in the state community in the nation.

“This is the state of Simeón Adebo and A. k Degun. The state has produced giants that laid the foundation of public service in Nigeria, ”he said.

He said that the comments received by his administration about the appointment of some people in positions of responsibility were not satisfactory; therefore, the creation of the Committee.

Abiodun also pointed out that the Committee should determine if there are vacancies in the establishment for all positions and grade levels, to review and establish the procedures for the appointment by the Public Service Regulations and the existing Rules.

The Committee, according to the State helmsman, should recommend to the government an appropriate course of action on appointments.

He said that the Committee, which has four weeks to submit its report, is made up of qualified people who know how the public service works and asked people to provide members with adequate cooperation.

Responding, the president and former head of service, Mr. Dipo Odulate, said that his team would not leave any stone unturned in the performance of his assignment since he was ready to work assiduously, transparently and be fair to everyone.

Other members are Elder Sola Adeyemi, Alhaji Kehinde Ogunfow Odu, Chief Jide Oyeti, Alhaji Ambali Isola, Ms. Moyosore Olowonmi, Ms. Stanley Olufunmilayo. Mr. Nurudeen Oyedele would serve as Secretary.
