The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has urged the defeated Popular Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to demonstrate his commitment to the residents of the state of Osun by supporting to the governor Gboyega Oyetola.
GISTOK reported yesterday that the Supreme Court confirmed the victory of Oyetola in the election of governor of 2018 in the state of Osun
The Obasa spokesman said this in response to the Supreme Court ruling that on Friday, July 5, reaffirmed the ruling of an appeals court that previously confirmed the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
In a personally signed statement, Obasa expressed his happiness at the apex court’s decision and Adeleke’s reaction in which the latter said he never took the governor’s election of September 2018 as “do-or-die.”
“I join other Nigerians to congratulate Governor Gboyega Oyetola for this historic victory. I also thank the people of the State of Osun for remaining resolute in their support of our party and the governor.
“I want to urge the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to have a broader approach of joining Governor Oyetola to move Osun to a greater height.
“The policy is over; It is time to govern, and Senator Adeleke’s support for Governor Oyetola’s vision would further promote the state and its people.
“Osun is known as a land of peace. “While I urge the governor to be magnanimous in victory, I will also entrust Adeleke to take advantage of the governor’s open arms in the interest of the state and its people,” the spokesman said.
For the people of the state, Obasa emphasized that this was the best time to maintain their trust and support for the government that was confirmed to have been launched.
Obasa, who doubles as president of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures, expressed his confidence in Oyetola’s capacity and capacity to deliver and build on the solid foundations established by his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
“If Oyetola could do the same as he did even in the legal battle, I have no reason to doubt that the next four years will put the State of Osun in the right direction,” Obasa added.
The Lagos Speaker also praised the leadership of APC, including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the victory of the party in Osun, just when he noticed that the doors of the ruling party are open to receive the largest possible number of well-meaning Osun people.
