Oyo Assembly Passes N213 Billion 2020 Budget

The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed into law the state’s 2020 appropriation bill. In its plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, the House passed a sum of Two hundred and thirteen point two billion naira (213,278, 033, 200) as against the Two hundred and eight point eight billion naira (208.8) proposed Governor Seyi Makinde on the 27th of last month.

Insideoyo newspaper report that the lawmakers jacked up the budget with 5 billion naira. In a report presented by the Chairman, House Committee on Public Account and Appropriopriation, Mr Kehinde Olatunde, there was an upward review of the budget with about four point four billion naira.

The recurrent expenditure stood at one hundred and ten point four (110.4) billion naira while the capital expenditure was one hundred and three point three billion naira.

Speaker of the house, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, who said the 2020 budget was about eighty billion naira lower than that of the previous administration, which aimed at achieving seventy percent implementation, disclosed that the committee on finance and appropriation would undergo trainings for implementation at ministries departments and agencies.
