The People Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of Oyo has warned its members to desist from instituting unnecessary litigation. He said that they should use the internal mechanisms available in the part to solve all the problems.

This was contained in a statement issued Friday in Ibadan by Mr. Akeem Olatunji, the Party’s State Publicity Secretary.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party was reacting to the victory of Governor Seyi Makinde in the Supreme Court.

It would be recalled that Senator Ayoade Adeseun, a member of the PDP, had dragged Makinde to the apex court in the party primaries that produced Makinde as the candidate for party governor.

The statement described the victory as a testament to the transparent, free and fair primary electoral process that produced Makinde and other PDP candidates in the state.

“We want to assure the Oyo State people that the PDP government will be a clear exit from the past when impunity, indiscipline, disorder and lack of cohesion were the order of the day,” the statement said.

The party hailed Makinde’s victory in court, assuring the state’s residents that the administration run by the PDP would manage the state with the same measure of credibility and transparency.

The statement also said that integrity, transparency and zero tolerance for corruption would be the governor’s key words.

He promised Makinde’s continued support of the party as their leader, noting that the current party leadership headed by Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha would make the PDP enviable in the state.
