The Kaduna State Police Command said Friday that it arrested a notorious kidnapper and rescued eight kidnap victims in the state.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that The Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, who announced this in a statement on Friday, said a combined team of police officers from Rigasa, the Nariya division, and personnel from the Command’s Operations Department carried out the operation on October 29 at approximately 8:30. p.m
According to him, the team, “with a reliable warning, went into action and managed to arrest the alleged notorious kidnapper, a Mustapha Ibrahim from Daura Road, Rigasa, Kaduna with his hands in the mass with a kidnapped victim.”
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Sabo said the suspect was heading to hand over the victim, Abubakar Aminu, a 13-year-old boy from Maraban Rido, Chukun LGA, Kaduna state to his gang members when he was caught.
He explained that the suspect subsequently led the operatives to rescue two other victims, Ismaila Hussaini and Hussaini Umar, both residents in the Ado-Gwaram area of Rigasa Kaduna.
“The suspect is helping the police investigation, the Command is currently following other gang members for possible arrest and prosecution,” said NAN.
He added that the Command, in continuation of its current attack against all the bandit camps identified in the state, also successfully rescued another group of kidnapped victims on October 31.
Sabo said the operation in the Maguzawa and Gurguzu forests successfully rescued five kidnap victims after raiding some bandit camps around 1:30 a.m. Thursday and faced them in a fierce arms duel. He said the alleged bandits escaped with gunshot wounds, but the captives were successfully rescued.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Sabo identified the rescued as Sada Abdullahi, Maimuna Umar Sharif, Ismail Umar Sharif, Aisha Umar Sharif, and Husaini Umar Sharif, all adults from the village of Nariya, Chukun LGA.
