Mustapha Salihu, national vice president of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Northwest, told the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday in the last election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, that the scammers tricked him into believing he was a server there INEC used to convey the election results.
He described the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition court on Atiku’s claim as a victory for Nigeria and the Nigerian people and not just for APC.
Mustapha said it was clear that there was no such server recognized by law anywhere. The politician spoke with journalists in Abuja at the end of a stakeholder meeting of the Adamawa state party.
According to him, those who made Atiku believe that the existence of a server managed to defraud him. He added: “Some people robbed them [PDP and Atiku], took their money and told them there was an INEC server somewhere when that was not true.
“Although his lawyers did a good job of trying to present his case, he was dismissed because there was no substance.
“Now we have eliminated the distractions and this government is going to deliver the dividends of democracy and the next level is assured.
“The result of the court is something expected. “All the reasons studied by the opposition are frivolous because it cannot be said that an army general who served as a commanding officer, Head of State, Minister and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for four years has no credentials.”
