Ibrahim Emokpaire, head of the All Progressive Congress (APC) says that the national president, Adams Oshiomhole, faces opposition due to his determination to instill the discipline and supremacy of the party.
He said this in an interview with Latest Nigeria newspaper on Wednesday in Abuja, while reacting to internal disputes within the party.
Emokpaire, a former APC national presidential candidate and founder of the Progressive Solidarity Forum (PSF), said those who requested the looting of Oshiomhole were “detractors that should not be taken into account.”
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that He recalled that before the election of Oshiomhole, the party had turbulent moments, when indiscipline was the order of the day in most of its state chapters throughout the federation.
“The loss of the states of Rivers and Zamfara was due to the selfishness, greed and indiscipline of the individuals in the party, which was the hangover of the previous immediate national president.
Latest Nigeria newspaper report that Oshiomole has regained some discipline at the party and has established basic rules of prohibited areas. Since taking over the affairs of the game, he has not lost any off-season election as seen in Ekiti, Osun and recently Kogi and Bayelsa.
“With Oshiomhole at the head of the matter, the opposition is not comfortable because of its obstinacy and its pointless approach, but its administration of doing the right thing,” Emokpaire said.
