Rivers: F-SARS commander ordered shooting at collation centre –INEC ad hoc staff

An impromptu staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Marvin Kia-me, yesterday, asserted that administrator of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) requested the shooting at an assemblage focus in Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Kia-use told a Judicial Commission of Inquiry exploring the brutality and killings that happened amid the presidential and House of Assembly decisions in Rivers State, on February 23 and March 9 separately, that the shooting, which occurred at Khana chamber grouping focus, prompting the passing of Dr. Ship Gberegbe, was requested by the police.

The specially appointed staff said there was disorder and he saw that the PDP operator tumbled down yelling in torment, in the wake of being hit by a slug on his lower midriff.

He stated: “While I was running a direct result of the shooting for security, I saw the late Gberegbe tumbled to the ground. While I endeavored to support him, I saw I was additionally shot on my correct thigh.

“While he was yelling in agony and holding his stomach, he (Gberegbe) evacuated his hand on the spot he was shot and I saw the projectile opening.

“A while later, I was hurrying to a medical clinic in Bori, Khana and was later taken to Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital where Dr. Nsirim assumed responsibility for my case.”
