Immediate former Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has called for support for  for President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, Governor Seyi Makinde, saying leaders are chosen by God.

Addressing journalists on Sunday after observing Eid-el-Kabir prayers at the Ansaar-U-Deen praying ground, Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, the state capital which was led by the Chief Iman of the place, Sheikh Hamzat Ma’aruf, Ajimobi urged the residents of the state to cooperate with Makinde so that he could succeed in steering the ship of the state.

The former governor was accompanied by some of his former aides and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the last election, Adebayo Adelabu.

Ajimobi said:”Let’s continually appreciate God and the spirit of the season is to believe in God and to be able to sacrifice. Whatever we do is sacrifice. Not just by sluggering of rams. We must believe in our leaders. We were there. There is always a yesterday for every leader. When you are there you give your best, fear God and not human beings. You can offend men but don’t offend God. No regret for decisions made in government. The only regret is that I tried to be perfect in an imperfect world.

“We should cooperate with the government. They have been chosen by God. You can’t be a President, a Governor, a Minister without the approval of God. If God has given them that position, let’s support them. So, let’s support President Muhammadu Buhari.

Let’s support the current governor, Governor Seyi Makinde for him to succeed. If he succeeds, we will make progress. Don’t wish him bad. Wish him well so that he can succeed. So that he can take our state up and up. It is another party but it doesn’t matter. He is for the state. Let’s pray for him, let’s work with him so that he can succeed”.
