The Buhari Media Organization (BMO) rejected the appointment of Seun Onigbinde, critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, as technical advisor to the Minister of Budget and National Planning.
BMO said Sunday that the appointment was a parody that desecrates the characters of honor and integrity that are the hallmarks of President Muhammadu Buhari and those who are called to serve in his government.
The appointment for days attracted widespread reactions from supporters of the Buhari administration, many of whom totally condemned the measure.
In a statement signed by Niyi Akinsiju and Cassidy Madueke, president and secretary of BMO, respectively, the group wondered how “an unbalanced caustic denigrator of President Buhari’s government would be called to serve in the same administration as he had described in the terms more unpleasant. ”
“Seun Onigbinde lacks honor and integrity, which are well-known characters of President Buhari, and therefore could not be on the same team as him.
“He has described the president with the most unpleasant terms and has shown, especially in social networks, that he sees nothing good in the administration of President Buhari.”
“Onigbinde had also reached the shameful end of describing those who support the President and his administration as” ethnic jingoists. “He once referred to the President as” incompetent, “and accused him of being a dictator who commits illegality.
“We cannot help wondering if this same man accepted an appointment to serve in this same administration that he has described in the most hateful terms. Show that he lacks honor.
“Maybe he was intimidating all the time so he could realize and be infiltrated at night in the same government he threw publicly at.”
BMO added that Onigbinde lacked decency and morality to reject that appointment if he really believed in those insults he had publicly launched at Buhari and his administration.
“We believe that a man must defend something and live according to him. If someone called Seun to request an appointment in a government that he ridiculed and described as illegal and dictatorial, he should have rejected it, if he had any decency or moral.
“Do you now want to serve in this same government and be part of what he called illegality and dictatorship?” The group asked.
“He came to delete his Twitter account so that his ridiculous and degrading publications against President Buhari’s government were not remembered. That is enough evidence of the lack of character of Seun Onigbinde.
The group also convened the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party, to reject the appointment of Seun Onigbinde and request his expulsion from the government.
He said: “There are innumerable supporters of the President who have a more powerful background and records, who are better qualified and who would offer better professional and intellectual support for the achievement of the President’s ideals and objectives, in which they believe, in which Seun has said no.
“These are what the government should involve, not unbalanced critics with unstable morals.
“We do not expect a man to rain curses on the conductor of an orchestra for the music he is playing, and yet he seeks to play an instrument in that same orchestra. That is a parody of integrity. It should not be sustained. “
