The Honourable member representing AFIJIO state constituency, Hon. Seyi Adisa, has congratulated the newly minted 32-year old speaker of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, whose emergence yesterday, ran as a historic one in the annals of the legislature in Nigeria.
While stating his promise of cooperating with Ogundoyin, Adisa, who was principal private secretary to former governor Abiola Ajimobi, also reiterated the new Speaker’s inaugural promise of making meaningful laws. He wrote via his social media accounts:
“One of the great liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. Every society has its protectors of status quo and its fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions. Today, our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change.” — Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
My special congratulations goes to the record-making new Speaker of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin Edward @debo_ogund, whose emergence further goes to prove that it’s only through action do words, like #NotTooYoungToRun and #YouthInLeadership take meaning.
Here’s to a tenure of making meaningful laws together and representing the people purposefully!#nottooyoungtorun #OyoState #Ejekaseyi. The 9th Assembly, consisting a sizable number of young men, was inaugurated yesterday the 10th of June, 2019, at the iconic House of Chiefs, in Ibadan.
