The tragedy struck in the Osaka area, in Bariga, Lagos state, when a three-story building collapsed around 9:30 pm on Sunday.
Dele Timothy, who lives in the area, told reporters that six people had been rescued and that even more people could be trapped in the rubble.
He said: “I stay in the area; The building that collapsed is a residential building, and the incident occurred around 9.30 pm. People are still there, but rescuers have been able to take out about six people.
The officials of the Lagos State Fire Service are already on the ground, but they still cannot enter, because the road to the scene is terrible.
“We are already here, but the road is bad, and there is indiscriminate parking on the street. Therefore, we were unable to access the building. “The police are also close, and we are thinking about what to do, but for now, the rescue operation has not started,” he said.
