Barcelona’s new signing, Antoine Griezmann, revealed that he would like to team up with Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette at the LaLiga club, according to Sky Sports.
The Frenchman also backed Liverpool to win the Premier League title next season. Griezmann completed a change of 107 million pounds from Atlético de Madrid to Barça earlier this month.
The 28-year-old had previously been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. However, his move to Catalonia has given him the chance to join Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez in attack.
Sky Sport quoted the player as having had the opportunity to move to the Premier League in the past, with United strongly linked, but he is happy in the league.
“I was having a lot of fun in La Liga,” he said when talking about his transfer decision. Griezmann added that he would love to team up with his French international colleague, Lacazette, at Barça.
“I would love to play with Lacazette,” Griezmann said. “He’s a friend of mine, we play together in the national team, he’s an incredible player, he’s very talented.”
On Liverpool’s title prospects, Griezmann added that he hoped they would lift the trophy for their fans, and said: “They deserve to win the Premier League, I hope that someday they will win it again.”
