The Spanish team, CD Leganés, has confirmed the signing of the Super Eagles Chidozie Awaziem defender. Awaziem joined the La Liga team with a Porto loan for the entire season.
He played on the right back after Abdullahi Shehu suffered an injury in his first game against Burundi in the African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The versatile player joined Porto in the 2014-15 season of the local club Elkanemi Junior and has played 15 games for his first team, scoring a goal.
The 22-year-old signed with Leganés after a recent period of loans on the Turkish side, çaykur Rizespor, for whom he made 16 appearances in the second half of the 2018-2019 campaign.
He made his debut in the Champions League for Porto in a 3-2 victory at Galatasaray in December 2018.
Awaziem will wear jersey number 12 in LaLiga this season. He is the second international defender of Nigeria to join Leganes in the summer transfer window after Kenneth Omeruo.
