UI Induces 75 Graduates In Profession Of Pharmacy

Seventy-Five alumni of University of Ibadan (UI) have been accepted into Pharmacy calling with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka advising the inductees to be great envoys of the foundation.

The VC who had before introduced multimillion Naira recently fabricated Pharmacy Faculty where he guaranteed to keep on wisely spread the assets of the University in an evenhanded way, urged the new Pharmacists to have a beneficial outcome to the social insurance conveyance framework by adding to the circulation of value meds in the nation.

“As at today, this Faculty which turned out to be undeniable in 1983 has created almost 800 Pharmacists who are contributing colossally to the improvement of Nigeria and different countries of the world, either in the pharmaceutical, wellbeing or different segments. As of late, Mrs. Olutayo Arikawe, a graduated class of this University was named the Pharmacist of the Year in the United Kingdom”, said the VC.

Prof. Olayinka who emphasized his promise to the improvement of UI expressed “my vision for UI is to make it an exploration concentrated organization for the change of Nigeria as a 21st century information-driven, quickly globalizing economy”, including, “my central goal is to make a superior University with remarkable instructing and learning offices that are locally significant, broadly prevalent and comprehensively aggressive and to deliver graduates who are famously employable .”

He in this way called for help from the guardians, graduated class, and well-wishers to make UI less reliant on the government for financing.

Prior, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Oluwatoyin Odeku had expressed gratitude toward the VC for committing assets to assemble the Faculty complex, asking the University’s Management to finish the venture by getting furniture and other relevant offices.

In his address, the keynote speaker, Pharmacist Gbenga Falabi urged the inductees to expand on their insight as they go into the world, saying strength, capabilities and demonstrable skill are expected of them if they should affect the general public.

Prizes were later given to the individuals who separated themselves with Bamgboye, Adeboye Olakunle rising as the Best Graduating Pharmacy Student.
