UI Promotes Oyo Deputy Governor’s Wife, 18 Others To Professorial Cadre (See Names)

The Nigeria’s Premier University, University of Ibadan, has on Friday promoted the wife of the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Amudalat Olaniyan and 18 others to professorial cadre.

Insideoyo newspaper report that According to a statement by the Vice chancellor, Prof Abel Idowu Olayinka, nine members of staff were promoted to the grade of full professor while ten were promoted to the grade of Reader.

The statement read “At its meeting held on Friday, 20th December 2019, the Appointments and Promotions Committee for Academic Staff at the University of Ibadan has announced the promotion of 19 of its academic staff to the professorial cadre. Nine were promoted to the grade of full Professor and the remaining 10 to the grade of Reader.”

The names are:

1. Dr Olajumoke A. MORENIKEJI – Zoology

2. Dr. T. O. OSOSANYA – Animal Science

3. Dr. R. A. ANIMASHAUN – Guidance and Counselling

4. Dr. Olufunke E. OLA-DAVIES – Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry

5. Dr. A. E. ORIMADEGUN – Institute of Child Health

6. Dr. R. A. SANUSI – Human Nutrition

7. Dr. S. T. OGUNBANWO – Microbiology

8. Dr. A. A. OGUNJOBI – Microbiology

9. Dr. Amudalat B. OLANIYAN – Agronomy

READER

10. Dr. V. O. LASEBIKAN – Psychiatry

11. Dr. Folake SAMUEL – Human Nutrition

12. Dr. A. M. ALABI – Urban and Regional Planning

13. Dr. J. O. AROWOSEGBE – Political Science

The statement also added that “In addition, two members of the academic staff were promoted from Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer Grade II, 25 from Lecturer Grade II to Lecturer Grade I, 1 from Senior Librarian to Principal Librarian and 26 from Lecturer Grade I to Senior Lecturer.”

Olayinka while wishing them the best in their career also congratulated the newly promoted staff for their elevation.
