The in Action Peoples Party (APP) has withdrawn its petition against the declaration of Bello Mohammed Mattawale as Governor of Zamfara in the State Elections Petitions Court in Abuja.

The National Executive Committee of the Party said that it resolved to accept in good faith the verdict of the National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) that declared Mattawale the winner, after the decision of the Supreme Court on the primaries of the Congress of All Progressives (APC). And the election of Governor.

Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, National President of APP, described the emergence of Governor Mattawale as divine and urged the people of Zamfara to support him to deliver the dividends of democracy.

He said: “The Party also urges the APC to abandon all its antics of distraction against the Governor and support him to rebuild the state that his Party brought down on its knees and bequeathed with rivers of blood and developing.

“The APC should not continue in its misguided shenanigans to request the Supreme Court to review the sentence dismissing the APC from his position.

“No party should stand in the way of what God wants to do in Zamfara, and the APC will have all its fingers burned if it continues down this road.

“The Governor has demonstrated the ability to rebuild the state and secure the lives and property of the people of Zamfara and needs our support to succeed for the good of all.”
