Buratai warns soldiers on loyalty to President Buhari

The Chief of the Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, warned Army officers and men to be loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian constitution. According to him, that was not negotiable for military professionalism.

Buratai gave the position in Abuja while declaring the fifth edition of a three-day procurement seminar for commanders, treasurers and administrative officials of command security schools open, with the theme “Improving the capacity of personnel for procurement Efficient and financial management in the secondary command Schools’.

He urged officers to remain apolitical, take the right actions, and show commitment to the job. “We need to remain loyal to the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This is a non-negotiable part of our profession.

“Commanders at all levels must continue to provide the necessary leadership and ensure that their personnel is continually reminded of the need to be apolitical and continue to maintain the principles of military professionalism,” Buratai said.
